Position Summary:
The Director of Extraction and Processing oversees all production planning, extraction, post-processing, distillation, concentrate/raw material production, and infused product production. The Director reports to the facility General Manager and manages day-to-day operations in our safe, secure, high-tech, environmentally conscious, and compliant Adrian facility. We are seeking someone with extensive hands-on experience using a variety of solvent-based (hydrocarbon, ethanol) and solventless extraction methods to prepare cannabis extracts. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in these forms of extraction, along with strong skills in production planning, documentation/compliance, leadership, and business acumen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee all extraction and production operations including hydrocarbon and cup-30 ethanol
extraction.
• Train employees on hydrocarbon and ethanol based cannabis extraction along with the
post-processing required for various products
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on market demand; develop production plans that
adhere to a tight timeline and ensure production goals are met
• Streamline existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with Good
• Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and assure that they
are followed; develop new SOPs and provide documented training as needed
• Ensure product consistency through quality control testing and adherence to SOPs
• Collaborate with Manager of Cultivation on raw material needs to accomplish production
goals
• Comply with all relevant regulations and internal standards
• Facilitate and oversee inspections by BFS and the CRA
• Streamline extraction and post-processing methodology to maximize product quality and
yield
• Ensure proper throughput of operations to meet the production schedule and demands
• Maintain a precise and accurate inventory of 2 processing licenses using Metrc and internal
record-keeping systems
• Develop preventative maintenance plans for all processing equipment to minimize
equipment downtime and allow for consistent throughput
• Collaborate with accounting team to properly cost all processed goods; make decisions on
future production based on these calculations
• Provide justification and data projections for capital purchases. Plan the addition of future
processing equipment and spaces in which they will safely operate
• Create reports that summarize efficiency, quantity, quality, profitability, and other production
metrics
• Ensure accuracy of inventory through analysis of inventory reports
• Track compliance in state-mandated system (METRC)
• Personnel Management/Training
• Hire, train, and supervise Processing Technicians/Supervisors, Packaging
Technicians/Supervisors, and Kitchen Technicians/Leads, ensuring proper scheduling of staff
with adequate shift coverage to address production goals
• Recommend adjustments in team structure to improve efficiency and profitability

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, biochemistry or analytical chemistry strongly
preferred
• 2+ years minimum experience in cannabis extraction and production at large-scale, quality
facility
• 5 years management experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in production planning—establishing and achieving set production goals
• Must understand the laboratory requirements associated with properly scaling ethanol
extraction equipment to a large grow operation
• Experienced directing activities across multiple shifts
• Experience in extraction purification and analysis
• Experience formulating extractions for vape cartridges and making cannabis-infused products
for consumption
• Ability to use and understand production tracking and inventory control software; METRC
experience highly preferred
• Knowledge of uses and benefits of cannabinoids
• Ability to observe and assess results that deviate from established company standards
• Knowledge of relevant regulations

• Experience directing and monitoring the performance of teams of employees
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately
